New KD321mn worth developmental projects planned

The Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Buildings, Mohammad Al-Sayegh, has announced the new projects of Ministrys developmental plan for years (2014 to 2018), worth KD321mn.

According to Al-Sayegh, KD249mn were allocated to projects of demolishing and rebuilding old and dilapidated schools, apart from building new schools together with public education sector.

The new plan includes building 50 schools during the years 2010-2014, with ten schools having been built already. The new plan also includes the project of allocating a new building for private education sector, apart from keeping aside a building for National Centre for Education Development in Al-Salmiya area. Each project may be worth KD5million or more, he said.

The Ministry’s plan also includes six centres to train teachers and administrators in each educational area, with the first centre being unveiled in Al-Jahra, with preliminary cost of the project worth KD4million or more.
