Kuwait to focus on bridge and road projects to deal traffic hurdles

The Ministry of Public Works, Dr Fadhel Safar, unveiled the Kuwait Bridge Design Construction Conference Exhibition yesterday.

Speaking during the opening speech of the conference, he said there is growing need in Kuwait for expanding bridge and road projects to overcome the complicating traffic problems.

There has been a surge in bridge projects of all sizes and this has been observed across Kuwait and the GCC region over the recent years. This has resulted in rapid growth of cities and has accelerated the need for an effective sustainable transport network.

The Minister revealed that the ministry is now working on several road projects, with the biggest of them being the Al-Jahra road development project.

He pointed out that the road has expanded to over 21 kilometers, with 17km of bridges. Minister Safar also touched upon several future plans for developing Kuwait’s transport network.

The Kuwait Bridge Design Construction Conference Exhibition is an outstanding two-day technical event that involves several senior level decision makers, project manager, engineers, and industry leaders. The conference addresses key issues such as bridge design, cost, specification, schedule and construction. Innovative techniques will also be discussed.

The Kuwait Bridge Design Construction Conference Exhibition is designed to assist participants to widen their knowledge and improve skills in bridge design and construction.

Participants can also gain access to latest development in the industry. Various challenges and difficulties in the bridge project will be discussed too.
