Kuwait to invite tenders for major projects

The Kuwait Minister of Public Works, Dr Fadhel Safar, said that his Ministry is planning to invite tenders for a plethora of projects soon. The tenders will be announced officially on completion of designs of the project, said Minister Safar.

He pointed out that the projects include the third phase of maintenance and restoration and upgrade of First Ring Road, construction and restoration of roads in Al-Fahahel commercial zone, the eastern area of Jahra City, Cairo Road, Doha area, Damascus Road, the Second Ring Road, Third Ring Road and Jaber Al-Ahmad City, Nawaseeb Road, Fifth Ring Road and East of Sulaibikhat.

The Ministry works to upgrade all roads in Kuwait, in-line with the plan approved by the Municipal Council and the Amir, said Dr. Safar.

Another package of construction tenders has been unveiled across the nation. The projects include maintenance, restoration and upgrade of maternity, Paediatric hospitals, Ibn Sina, Alrazi, Al-Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kaber Governorate’s Head Quarters, Arabization of Health Sciences Centre and New Information Ministry buildings.

Tenders will also be invited for restoration and upgrade of Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 2, Al-Farwaniyah Culture Centre, buildings of public works ministries and electricity, Borrowing and Lending Bank branches and compounds of private schools in Hawali, Jahra, Fintas.

Tenders will also be announced by the Ministry for construction works and upgrade of General Directorate of Police of six governorates of the country, construction of malls at Abu Futaira, Gernada and Al-Funaitees areas, Kuwait Medical Institute, court buildings of Hawali, Farwaniyah and Jahra governorates, overhauling of Jahra and Assemah governorates, and more such projects.

Majority of such projects are part of Kuwait’s State Development Plan. The private sector is having a lion share in the state development plan projects, Dr. Safar said.
