Nationals violating residential building rules will be blacklisted

Nationals who violate the by-laws and regulations in residential buildings by renting them to people for purposes other than accommodations, will be blacklisted, the Ministry of Interior has emphasized.

On blacklisting nationals, a travel ban will be applied on them, and all transactions will be suspended until they comply with the by-laws and regulations, the Ministry officials explained.

Such a decision has been taken by the Ministry, when they were confronted by the Municipality about procedures to be adopted against violations about private residential buildings being rented out for lawyer offices and private firms.

The Interior Ministry is also co-ordinating with Ministry of Justice to suspend all transactions and documents pertaining to properties of nationals who violate such regulations.

The practice of running businesses in private residential apartments has led to multiple social and security issues, including hike in usage of water and electricity, thereby pressurizing the concerned authorities to control such illegal activities for the good of the society.
