Minister proposes solutions to housing problems in Kuwait

The housing problem faced by Kuwait in recent times can be resolved, and the government only need to convince the nationals to live in high-rise buildings in new cities at the outskirts of the country, says Former Minister of Housing Affairs, Yahya Al-Sumait.

He further said that Kuwait can market such buildings by allotting apartments with full amenities to nationals, while the building dimensions should not be less than 300 to 400 square/meters.

He suggested that the complex should have several lifts and parking lots, and the government can prevent similar defects at the Sawaber Complex. He emphasized that such new cities can be built away from the Kuwait City, so as to alleviate the housing problems.

Al-Sumait assured that nationals working in offices downtown and residing on the outskirts of the country will not be affected, as it does not take more than an hourís drive from even the remotest area in Kuwait to the urban centre.
