Expats may have to produce clearance letter before leaving Kuwait

The Ministry of Interior may soon approve a decision to mandate foreigners leaving the country permanently, to present a letter from General Traffic Directorate. This will be similar to clearance from Ministry of Electricity and Water, and is aimed at verifying the fact that there are no traffic fines to be settled before leaving the country.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry is also on the verge of obliging the military staff to obtain clearance from their work places before travelling.

According to local media sources, this decision will be approved by Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, and military personnel will finally be able to obtain clearance for travelling.

Al-Sabah further clarified that this proposal forms a part of the procedures by the Ministry, aimed at regulating itinerant activities and affects expatriates working in the Interior Ministry.
