Kuwait to re-start transfer of domestic to work visas

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in Kuwait will re-open doors to domestic workers, to transfer their residence to private sector, beginning June 2012, said Mohammed Al-Kandari, the Undersecretary of Ministry for Labour Affairs.

Such transfers were temporarily suspended over the past couple of months.

Al-Kandari further mentioned that if an applicant seeks to transfer his/her domestic visa into work visa, they will have to meet certain conditions, such as holding a valid residence permit, provided, the sponsor is the same.

Further, the official said that Ministry all efforts will be on to process the visit visa applications by issuing appropriate laws.
