Labour Ministry embarks on pilot test for online transactions

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MSAL) has begun a pilot test for a project that enables major companies to complete labour transactions online, a Senior Ministry official said.

The system permits companies with at least 5000 employees to renew residence permits and issue work permits, after making necessary payments online. This is a step implemented for the first time ever by the Ministry, said Mohammad Al-Kandari, MSAL Undersecretary.

The project is now being used by select number of companies as its first test run. Later on, all major companies in Kuwait will adopt this policy.

Officially, this project will be unveiled by Minister Ahmad Al-Rujaib, towards the end of this month. This initiative will be followed by all labour departments around Kuwait, Al-Kandari said.
