Labour Ministry permits exemption of certain nationalities from visa fees
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour will soon permit nationals of European Union member states, America, Japan and other nations, to transfer commercial visit visas into work permits, exempting them from visa fees.
Disclosing this, the Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Jamal Al-Dosari, mentioned that the Ministry is co-ordinating with its counterpart in bringing forth a mechanism for such transfers.
According to Al-Dosari, such a measure is in line with the earlier agreement signed by Kuwait, with 38 nations, agreeing to exempt their nationals from visa fees.
He confirmed that the decision will be announced soon officially, following a meeting between the two ministries.
