Kuwait to build major residential cities for expat accommodation

Kuwait is going ahead with construction of three major residential cities for expat accommodation. The cities are worth a total of $441mn.

The work is being carried out by the Ministry of Public Works in Kuwait. The residential cities are likely to come up in the southern part of Municipality scrapyard, North Abdullah Port and West Al-Hajaj City.

The project will be referred to the Technical Committee for further study by MPW, and necessary steps for implementation of the project will be taken on a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) basis by the end of this year.

The three cities together will have the capacity to accommodate nearly 25,000 people. Each city will offer apartments, Mosques, administrative buildings, security and medical centres for expatriates. The cities are spread across a total land area of 100,000 Sq. Mt.
