The Kuwait Municipality said that the area surrounded by Ali Al-Salem, Fahad Al-Salem, Ahmad Al-Jaber, Abdullah Al-Salem and Algeria will undergo renovation worth KD3mn. As part of the projects, the Safat Square in Downtown Kuwait City will be closed to carry on works that would restore the features of the location.

Further, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Communication, the Ministry of Electricity and water, and other departments will co-ordinate to facilitate flooring, re-furnishing and agricultural works.

Being a busy location in downtown Kuwait City, the Safat Square is home to several businesses. During the recent past, the security forces have temporarily blocked the square to prevent staging of public demonstrations.
