Kuwait imposes temporary ban on visas for five nationalities

Nationals from Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria are banned from entering Kuwait, the Kuwait media reports.

The ban includes suspending all visit and trade visas, tourism, visa sponsored by spouses, and immigration sources.

The visa ban is attributed to difficult security conditions in five nations and due to increasing tendency of nationals from these nations to apply for visas seeking entry of relatives who had faced arrest or could face arrest by local authorities.

The authorities emphasized that no exception would be permitted, but added that ban was temporary, and will be lifted when the security situation stabilizes.
