Expat health insurance policy to cost minimum KD130 annually

The new health insurance policy for expatriate personnel will cost minimum of KD130 every year, while families are liable for special discounts, revealed the Head of the Founding Committee of New Health Insurance Company, Mohammad Al-Munaifi.

The proposed health insurance company will build three hospitals and 15 health centers across the governorates to offer primary health care to expatriate residents, visitors and nationals who intend to join the insurance scheme.

According to Al-Munaifi, the project which will require five years for completion is a part of the Amiri vision, aimed to transform Kuwait into an economic and commercial hub.

The company will further promote involvement of private sector firms in health care delivery, so as to bring in more patients. As per the proposed health insurance policy, the individuals will have pay maximum of KD130, although the price could be reduced, and families will be given special reduced packages.
