Kuwait to operate first superjumbo A380 aircraft in the world

Kuwait operates the worlds first superjumbo A380 aircraft this month, in honour of the Kuwait National Day which falls on 25th February.

Emirates will operate its award winning A380 aircraft into the Kuwait International Airport, when Kuwait celebrates its 50th National Day on 25th February 2011, said Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice-President Commercial Operations, Gulf, Middle East and Iran.

The Emirates Flight EK857 will depart Dubai at 14:55 on 26th February and will arrive at Kuwait by 15:40 on the same day. The return flight EK858 will depart Kuwait on 26th February at 18:10 and arrive in Dubai at 20:40 on the same day. The huge aircraft can accommodate about 489 passengers with 399 in Economy Class, 76 in Business Class and 14 in First Class.

Emirates already has 15 A380s in its fleet at present, operating to 12 destinations including London Heathrow, Sydney, Hong Kong, Seoul, Paris, Toronto, Auckland, New York, Seoul, Bangkok, Jeddah and Beijing, with another 75 A380s in pipeline.

At present, Emirates operates four flights a day into Kuwait, serviced by a mix of Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft in three class configurations.
