Indians are the largest expat community in Kuwait in 2010

There has been a 13percent decrease in expatriate population on work, dependent, tourist, domestic, commercial and government visas in 2010, owing to the war launched against illegal firms and marginal workers, said reliable sources.

As per the statistics issued by the Immigration General Administration, the Indian community is still the largest in the country. As on 30th November 2010, about 600,000 Indians were present in the country. Among them, 233,000 (including 157,000 men and 76,000 women) worked as domestic helps, while 81,000 were on dependent visa, including 26,374 men and 54,708 women.

The Sri Lankan community is the second largest with an estimated population of 84,000. Bangladeshis constitute 68,000 of the population, while Filipinos came fourth with 60,000 in numbers, and Indonesian population constituted a total of 48,000 of the population.
