Air India to cut down flights to Kuwait by 8 to 10 percent
Air India, Indias official airline, has announced its decision to cut down on frequency of its flights to Kuwait by 8 to 10 percent, for operational reasons.
The flight frequencies have also been decreased to few other Gulf destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Muscat. But, most cancellations follow the peak season, beginning 20th September to 30th October.
According to the Air India Regional Manager, Abhay Pathak, this is in response to the commercial demand, and a back-up plan is in place.
The flight frequencies have been reduced to right-size the airline, owing to commercial and operational reasons. Since the cabin crews are not likely to exceed 1000 hours of flying a year, a re-scheduling is necessary. Moreover, these frequencies will be re-served in the future, he said.
