New e-system launched by Works Ministry to follow-up projects
The Ministry of Public Works has announced the launch of a new system by following up the development projects online, beginning from the study phase, until completion.
The Ministry Undersecretary, Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Kulaid, said that the new system works by preparing the required documents and assets, Fatwa and Legislation, advertising, formation of committees to study bids, and the Audit Bureau, for completion of all signatures required to launch the project.
The system is used to prepare the monthly payments for contractors, indicates the completed stages, and the change commands, extensions, additional funding, and any such issue pertaining to completion of projects.
The system aims to issue all types of payments and certificates electronically, by eliminating the paperwork completely. This system will enable accuracy, easy access and confidentiality of information.
The system also has an e-mail option, wherein documents are sent electronically to all concerned departments. The system can be accessed by a fingerprint reader with a user account, and it can be use the electronic signature on the payment certificate, via the fingerprint confirmation.
Al-Kulaib explained that the system also includes several inner systems to follow-up projects and studies, contract information, and payment certificates, apart from governmental work programs, system for rehabilitation and evaluation of contractors, categorizing companies as per approval of Tenders Committee and past experiences.
