Ring Road project to be fully complete by July 2011
About sixty percent of the first phase of the First Ring Road has been completed, and is hoped to be fully complete by July 2011, it has been revealed.
Speaking to KUNA, the Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Public Works for Roads, Hussein al-Mansour said that part of the project, the Al-Shuhadaa bridge, will be unveiled in September 2010. He was accompanied by Fadhel Safar, Minister of Public Works while on an inspection tour of the project.
The Minister has been urging the developer of the project to speed up the completion of the first stage of the highway venture, he said.
He also said that the contractor said that few parts of the project will be opened this month.
The project cost so far is KD14mn, although the total cost of the project is hoped to touch KD28.7mn, he said, while adding that all infrastructure works have been completed.
