New regulation announced for female workers in Kuwait
According to the new regulation by Labour Minister Dr Mohammad Al-Afasi, female employees working in establishments such as banks and restaurants and those in educational and non-profit institutions will be allowed to work nightshifts until midnight.
The female workers in other fields such as medicine, journalism, and laboratory work and the law, apart from female pharmacy, amusement park, hotel, cinema and media personnel, will also be governed by the new regulations.
Women will be banned from working in certain physically strenuous, or work of hazardous nature. Also, outdoor work has been prohibited for both men and women workers between 12:00PM to 4:00PM between 1st June and end of August, due to extreme heat.
