Ministry to introduce e-services for online renewal of permits
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour will soon introduce e-services which will enable employers to issue, renew and transfer work permits through the internet.
The Undersecretary at the Labour Ministry, Mohammed Al-Kandari said the new service will also enable the ministry to contact the employee or the employer through Internet or through SMS.
Further, the Arab Labour Organization (ALO) has approved the establishment of Society for Social Security of Arab Workers head-quartered in Lebanon. The society will manage the issues of migrant Arab expatriates in the region.
ALO has also approved the suggestion of employing Arabs on a ten year contract, aiming to reduce Arab unemployment to less than 50 percent.
ALO also revealed that the establishment of Arab Society for Training Institutions and Technical and Career Education was approved during the Arab Labour Conference which was recently held in Bahrain.
