Jazeera Airways halts flights on certain sectors
Jazeera Airways, low-budget carrier, yesterday said that it was cutting services on certain sectors, to tide over difficult times, as there seems no improvement in sight even next year.
The airline, which currently flies to 23 destinations, will stop flying regularly from Kuwait to Egyptian Red Sea City of Hurghada, and is also likely to cancel its Mumbai route, and delay plans of flying to Latakia, Syria. The airline is also considering the possibility of halting flights from Kuwait to Tehran and between Dubai and Bahrain.
The Chief Executive of the airline, Stefan Picher, agreed that there will be no job cuts. However, Jazeera is still planning to establish a second hub outside the Gulf, and hopes to make a decision by first half of 2010.
