Kuwait to establish three new hospitals for expatriates
Kuwait will see a major leap in health services provided in the near future, said Hilal Al-Sayer, the Health Minister.
The Health Ministry has begun implementation of short and long term plans to improve health services through technical and administrative developments and resolving standing issues, the Minister said.
The Ministry is in the process of boosting service capacities in state hospitals, as urged by H.H. the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The Health Ministry has chalked out a comprehensive five-year plan aimed to promote health sector in Kuwait.
The plan stipulates establishment of three hospitals for expatriates in Farwaniyah, Jahra and Al-Ahmadi, with full services being offered. Such hospitals will also help in removing the pressure on hospitals and health centers, which will contribute to provide citizens with better service.
The clinics, hospitals and other medical amenities will be electronically linked to organize distribution of medication through proper channels, preventing any foul play. Al-Sayer explained.
Also, six newly established labs will tackle the spread of A(H1N1) virus to be utilized to operate the required tests for expatriates in the future, and will alleviate pressure on the lone laboratory in Al-Sheab area, currently in service for this purpose.
Al-Sayer also affirmed that the Ministry will employ the best medical staff and will take the help of foreign experts, who could help in training of Kuwaiti doctors, particularly during complicated surgeries.
Al-Sayer made a tour to Germany and the United Kingdom for updates on the latest health services, to arrange exchange of expertise and to sign memorandums of understanding to exchange medical delegations and assess the quality of services offered in Kuwaiti hospitals.
