Expats can file case if monthly salary is not deposited on time
Expatriates in Kuwait can register a complaint with the Labour Department at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour, if, their monthly salary is not deposited on time by the sponsor, or if the employer has increased their working hours, without rise in pay, or if the salary of the employee has been reduced, without his consent.
The Article 18 also cites few other violations that terminate the contract signed by both parties.
For instance, if an employee is a victim of any violations, he can file a complaint at the Labour Ministry, explaining the conditions that lead to the termination of the contract, and submit a request for transfer of residence.
The Minister then deserves the right to cancel the work permit of the employee, and transfer his residence without prior notice to the sponsor. The authority comes from Decision No.106 in the constitution, which permits the Ministry to transfer an employee’s residence without the consent of sponsor, in case of any violation, irrespective of the time-period of sponsorship.
