Kuwait urged to solve housing issues & build cities for workers
Several candidates contesting in the upcoming Municipal Council elections in Kuwait have called for protection of environment, solving housing issues, and to establish cities for foreign workers.
One of the candidates, Hani Al-Mathkour, who runs the fourth constituency, when speaking during a seminar, mentioned that it is important to establish cities for foreign workers to reduce traffic congestions.
He also called for treating the environmental pollution, establishing new cities, and finding solutions to housing problems and developing health and educational services.
Another candidate, Shakir Al-Jazzaf, running in the same constituency, when speaking during the seminar, mentioned that the Municipality had a great role in organizing islands and cities and protecting public health and environment and in keeping the state clean.
He also pointed out the need to provide housing for bachelor expatriates staying away from their families.
In the meanwhile, candidate Ali Al-Attar mentioned that it is vital to depend on solar energy and save electric energy. He urged for establishment of an institute focusing on solar energy research, and called for focusing more on environmental issues and in moving cities away from areas with oil facilities.
