Kuwait plans to launch mega-tourism projects
Kuwait should highlight historic structures such as the Jahra Gateway turning them into attractions that commemorate the events they once witnessed, and launch mega-tourism projects, said Saleh Bahman, a Municipal candidate.
Bahman also called for improving the facilities at the seafront and provide better gardens and playgrounds for family picnics, constructing closed air-conditioned glass rooms along the beach for people to enjoy the sea view during hot summers.
Foreign investors can be looked forward to as partners in such projects, as this would form a major step in realizing the desire of H.H. the Amir, of transforming Kuwait into a financial and commercial center.
The candidate also emphasized the importance of constructing hotels and entertainment amenities on Kuwait’s Islands, and noted that historic sites on the Failaka Island should be utilized as a tourist attraction.
Appreciating the achievements of previous Muncipal Council, Bahman mentioned that the housing problem, wherein there are about 80,000 applicants awaiting a solution, will be one of the main issues that the council would be focusing on, and will begin co-ordinating with relevant authorities about the same.
Bahman has also urged to take measures to make Silk City a reality, as this ambitious project, due to come up in Subbiya, will include 250,000 housing units which could cater to the housing demands for the next 20 years.
The development of the Municipal Council will help in pushing ahead the development of the state, while also emphasizing the importance of allocating independent budget for the council, so that it may improve the efficiency of the departments and cater to its administrative and technical requirements.
