Transfer of private housing units in Khaitan proposed
MPs in Kuwait have put forward a proposal to transfer private housing units from the northern part of Khaitan to southern part of Khaitan.
According to MP Dr Faisal Al-Muslim, Khaitan is one of the oldest and best geographical locations in the country. He expressed concern that the area has huge number of bachelors and marginal workers, which bears a negative impact on its infrastructure, traffic flow, services and security.
The government has been urged to address this issue over the last six years, and that the area be located exclusively for bachelors, he pointed out.
Al-Muslim said that his new proposal seeks transfer of private residential houses from the third and fourth blocks of north Khaitan to the south. The proposal also entails transfer of ownership of Blocks 5 and 10, to the government, and paying the corresponding amount to the owners of about 900 houses, giving priority to New Khaitan which houses 1094 housing plots.
