Indian Embassy in Kuwait to outsource passport, visa services
The Indian embassy in Kuwait will outsource its passport and visa services to another Indian company, due to heavy rush experienced at the embassy counters by the increasing number of applicants. This initiative aims to offer faster and more efficient passport and visa services to all.
There has been tremendous increase in the number of Kuwaiti and other citizens travelling to India. From about 120,000 numbers belonging to Indian community during 1992, the numbers grew to 579,000 at present. This has increased the need of space and services, and a matching improvement in consular services being offered by the embassy.
The BLS International Visa Services will operate two service centers at Sharq and Fahaheel, effective 27th May 2009, the Indian Ambassador Ajai Malhotra said.
The company will charge KD1500 as service fee for passport services and KD5 for visa services per application, apart from the usual fees charged by the government.
Apart from passport and visa services, other facilities such as information desk, free application forms distribution, passport and visa applications, will all be provided. Affidavit and attestation services, however, will continue to be provided by the Indian Embassy.
Both the centers will operate from 8am to 12noon and from 4pm to 8pm, Sunday to Thursday, and between 4pm and 8pm on Saturdays. The center will remain closed on Fridays and major public holidays.
The Sharq Center is located at Emad Commercial Center, Basement Floor, Ahmad Al-Jaber Street.
The Faheel Center is located at Mujamma Unood, Fourth Floor, No. 25-26 Makkah Street.
The website http://www.bls-international.com for the centres has also been activated.
