Unemployment insurance may be granted to jobless Kuwaitis
Restructuring the local labour market and providing employment to Kuwaitis, should top the list of national priorities, keeping in view the growing unemployment problem among young professionals, pointed out MP Abdul Aziz Al Shayeji, the Third Constituency candidate.
Al-Shayeji requested granting of unemployment insurance to Kuwaitis, who lost their jobs, due to global economic crunch. These allowances would have greatly helped in easing the financial burden of Kuwaiti families, who lost their main source of income due to crisis.
These allowance will help in easing the financial burden of Kuwaiti families, who lost their main source of income during the crisis, he pointed out.
Urging that the government should protect Kuwaitis employed in private sector, Al Shayeji said that the efforts put in by the state during the past ten years in prompting youth to work in private sector by offering them with insurance in case they lose their jobs, should not go wasted.
He also appreciated the government decision to replace expatriates with Kuwaiti workers in public sector and to maintain a certain percentage of nationals in the private sector to address the unemployment problem.
However, there are still several thousands of expatriates occupying the ideal jobs in both public and private sectors, despite availability of qualified young Kuwaitis, he complained.
