Kuwait unveils its first Theme Park at Jahra
The first theme park in Middle East, namely The 99 Village Theme Park, was unveiled last week at Jahra in Kuwait. About 700 or more guests joined the grand opening of the park.
The 99 Village includes a stage show which explains the story of THE 99, while the life sized characters of The 99 superheroes, lead tours around the park, offering unique opportunity for kids to interact with their favorite heroes and learn about their origins. All this, is apart from the regular rides, games and entertainment.
This new Theme Park is the concept of Teshkeel Media Group (TMG), creators of the renowned acclaimed comic series, The 99, together with the United Entertainment and Tourism Company (UETC). The partnership aims to develop a series of The 99 Village Theme Parks throughout GCC.
The 99 Village holds a unique place in the entertainment offerings of the region. The storyline draws inspiration from the universal values inherent in Islam, while The 99 features characters from around the world.
On the Kuwait National Day, which falls on the 25th February, Teshkeel introduced its latest members of “The 99”, namely the Kuwaiti twins, whose special power is creativity.
As for the future, The 99 Village plans to open a new park each year for the next six years. The developments would alternate between indoor and outdoor parks, representing one of the most ambitious expansion plans for entertainment properties in the region.
Apart from the parks, the joint-venture aims to offer themed merchandise for ‘The 99’ that will be available to retail stores across the region. Among the items that would be made available will be coloring and activity books, toys, apparel, and games.
The Parks and merchandise are the latest step in spreading the story of The 99 to wide range of audience. The 99 theme parks are hoped to offer a safe and fun environment for families, while also get educated and entertained by the characters drawn from their culture and values.
