Kuwait has the best road network in Middle East
The road network to Kuwait is the most advanced network in the Middle East acknowledged the Ministry of Public Works last week.
Ever-since the 1950s, Kuwaitis have put in tremendous efforts to improve narrow roads that were greatly affected due to weather change. During mid 1970s, the roads used to be one kilometer or less in length, but, today, they are six kilometer long, out of which 650 kilometers are the highway roads that helped ease traffic congestions, said Hasan Thiyab, Assistant Undersecretary of Roads’ Engineering Affairs.
The Ministry of Public Works, together with Kuwait Municipal Affairs and Kuwait Central Traffic Department has tried to come up with a good strategy to develop and improve road network and bridges in Kuwait. Each such new project is an improvement to infrastructure and road network for Kuwait, Thiyab said.
