Kuwaitis offered 15,000 jobs in private sector
As per the decision by the Cabinet, Kuwaitis will be offered 15,000 jobs in the private sector companies, which have not abided to the decision of allocating a certain percentage of local manpower for appointments in their companies.
The plan would get implemented effective May 2009 for two years. Several governmental authorities, including the oil and military sectors will not be permitted to make tenders or contracts with private companies that are not committed to the decision that certain percentage of local manpower be appointed.
Further segregating the percentage of local manpower, the Cabinet said that 60 percent would be allocated for banks, 56 percent for investment and finance, 30 percent for Petro-chemicals and refining, 16% in insurance, 30% in nursery schools, 15% in real estates and services, 10% in government Arab Schools, 13% in money exchange, 5% in foreign schools, 2% in fishing and agriculture and 2% in industries.
