Wataniya Airways connects Dubai and Kuwait beginning Jan 09
The Kuwait-based Wataniya Airways will fly twice a day connecting Dubai and Kuwait, from 24th January 2009.
The CEO of Wataniya Airways, George Cooper said that the announcement is the fruitful result of more than a year of complex and careful preparations.
Dubai, being a primary business and tourist hub in the Middle East, there has been a long and close relationship between UAE and Kuwait and hence, Dubai is bound to be the first destination for Wataniya Airways, said George Cooper.
The Commercial Director for the new airline, Paul Sies, revealed that the airline has appointed Planet Group as the General Sales Agent (GSA) in the UAE.
Being an internationally recognized group with several business interests, the Planet Group has received international applause for its zeal in delivering quality services, and would be an ideal partner to deliver luxury air travel to Watniya’s customers, he said.
The new airline will operate with the latest product line of Airbus A320 model, specially configured to cater to premium luxury service which the airline intends to deliver.
Wataniya Airways will be a pioneer in the region in offering in-flight entertainment and special facilities to passengers. The entertainment selection will offer great personal home theater experience and new aircraft technology to provide first class travelers with additional features for plugging in their MP3 players or I-Pods directly into sockets adjacent to their seats.
Also, for the first time, travelers can send or receive messages on their mobile phones and Blackberries using OnAir technology.
Travelers will be given access to the Royal Terminal, meant for Wataniya airline passengers in Kuwait, while premium service and catering would be provided in Dubai. The airline is the first in Kuwait to be granted with this privege.
