Kuwaiti private sector employees not to be laid off for arbitrary reasons
The Kuwaiti government has opposed laying off Kuwait private sector employees for reasons associated with the global financial crisis, revealed Ahmad Baqer, the Minister of Commerce and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs.
Baqer has urged the National Assembly to adopt a new labour regulation as early as possible, as it intends to protect Kuwaiti private sector employees from arbitrary dismissal.
As per the new regulation, each Kuwaiti employee, laid off from work for arbitrary reasons, will be allocated compensation.
In the meanwhile, it has been learnt that thirteen expatriate doctors have resigned from their services in Ahmadi, an official revealed. The resignations will deepen the current shortage of medical professionals, the Ministry of Healthy said.
