Kuwaiti women entitled to early retirement
The Parliamentary Legal and Legislative Committee in Kuwait has approved a draft law which permits female employees to retire with full pension after 15 years of service, with this span further reduced to 10 years for mothers of disabled children.
The committee has also increased pensions from KD1250 to KD1750 per month, yielding to demands of several MPs.
The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee has also rejected proposal which permits citizens to build diwaniyas outside their homes on paying a symbolic annual fee.
According to Ahmad Lari, the Committee Secretary, the committee has also agreed for construction of two diwaniyas in each residential bloc for benefit of all residents.
Earlier, the government had launched a drive to demolish diwaniyas built illegally by citizens outside their homes on the land owned by the State, despite criticism from the MPs.
