e-Gate facility officially launched in Kuwait
The electronic gate (e-gate) facility has been officially launched in Kuwait. Speaking during the occasion of launch, the Minister of Communication, Abdulrahman Al-Ghumain, said that the e-gate forms the key pillar to advanced technology in government departments in Kuwait.
Al-Ghunaim said that the facility would be vital in transforming the manner in which the government renders its services. This implies round-the-clock services, and online services for people within and outside Kuwait.
“This would enable to highlight the positive effects in the application of Information Technology (IT) to achieve maximum competitiveness and transparency,” he said.
E-gate would motivate people to make use of communication technology in their daily life. The application would help the government achieve its economic and social sustainable development motives. The Director General of the Central Body of Information Technology, Ali Al-Shareeda said that E-Gate would help in making good use of the Information Technology sector, and would enable to carry out government services through a single gate.
“E-Gate would put and end to the era of regular procedures and make way for a new world,” he added.
E-Gate facilitates bill payments online, and ensures intellectual property rights, privacy, confidentiality of user information and cybercrime.
