Duration of residency permit transfers extended
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour has decided to grant extension of time for residence permit transfers to three months, starting mid-October.
As of now, expatriates were given only a two-month period to transfer their residence from one sponsor to another.
The Minister Undersecretary, Mohammed Al-Kandari, said that the decision has been arrived at, to provide better facilities to employers and said that the ministry will include few more additional amenities to few sectors.
He added that the ministry will permit domestic workers to transfer their residence to the same sponsor.
