Implementation of procedures begins against residency law violators
Major-General Tareq Hamada, Director-General for Ahmadi area security department declared that it has begun carrying out procedures against expatriates violating residency laws.
Speaking to the media, during his recent decision to permit residency violators to take advantage of the decision and permit them to leave the country without paying fines, it was a humanitarian step by Kuwait’s leadership and Interior Ministry.
Speaking about the decision, Hamada said that Interior Ministry has given a fresh opportunity to violators to adjust their residential status or leave the country without penalty, with the violators being given a new deadline beginning today and lasting till 15th October.
The security sector is working hard to implement the law, Hamada affirmed, and said that the new law would help decrease the problem of faux labour. The Interior Ministry will help foreign labourers seeking to leave the country, he said, adding that labourers facing problems from sponsors will have their issues sorted out.
Speaking to the media, the Undersecretary for Citizenship Affairs and Passports Major General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah, at the Interior Ministry, said that after a meeting with technical committee to implement the new deportation law, he said that the role of the technical committee is to ensure co-ordination among all immigration and interior departments for implementation of the law.
The department has also set up a phone-line 5730098 for violators intending to inquire about solutions for their problems.
