Kuwaiti citizens can expect Smart ID Cards in October
The Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has announced that it will distribute smart civil ID cards to citizens and expats beginning October this year.
According to sources at PACI, the authority has finalized all technical procedures pertaining to distribution of new civil ID cards, inclusive of more information regarding the bearer than the current civil IDs.
According to sources more than 100,000 civil ID cards have been found in the distribution machines and the authority aims to issue about 4000 civil IDs per month.
As for the developments, sources have clarified that the authority is yet to implement the Financial Fines Law, but anyone who has been arrested in connection with failure to present their civil ID at the time of routine inspections, will have to pay the stipulated fine immediately, and will be imposed punishment as per law.
