Women to be granted housing rights
The Minister of State for Housing and Development Affairs, Moudhi Al-Hamoud, said that the government plans to grant housing rights to Kuwaiti women on par with their male counterpart.
Women will be taken into consideration for the proposed integrated housing system, she explained.
During the past, Kuwaiti women have been entitled to receive only low-budget houses, built as part of special housing projects.
Al-Hamoud said that the move is still under study, as there are certain legal aspects required for amendment.
A ministry-appointed technical committee will consult MPs regarding the housing issue.
