First private aviation terminal unveiled
First private fixed-based operation airport terminal in Kuwait has been unveiled by Royal Aviation yesterday.
The project is in line with the desire of the state to encourage privatization, economic and commerce development. Most other services in the airport have already been privatized.
The entire project would occupy 130,000 square meter of property and has been named as 'General Aviation Building', costing about KD15million.
The Royal Aviation Chairman, Mubarak Al-Musteki, says “The project is a BOT with 20 year contract. It took us four years to build, and now we have 16 years left on our contract. We will provide services for private jets, air ambulances, air taxis, private charters, training and more.”
The Royal Aviation Terminal will be operated by the Managing Partner, Mercury Air Group, which is a leading international aviation company.
Al-Musteki said “Mercury Air Group will provide passengers Royal Touch service with traditional Kuwaiti hospitality, including private VIP and VVIP lounges. Added touches like ramp side shaded ports for passengers and aircraft set standard for luxurious services.”
The Royal Aviation offers a wide range of services including towing, cleaning, and refuelling apart from complete concierge services, and hotel and car arrangements, apart from conference coordination. International passengers will be offered premier services such as customs, visas, and US Immigration coordination.
General Aviation will bring in jobs, and have high return on investments apart from assisting KIA if needed during emergencies. Revenues will be generated from the commercial rental space in the General Aviation building, the aircraft fees, car parking fees and minor aircraft maintenance fees.
The entire General Aviation facility has the capacity to house up to 29 aircrafts.
