British Embassy in Kuwait imposes 10 year ban on illegals
The British Embassy in Kuwait has announced a ten-year ban for Visa cheats who try to gain access to the UK by use of false documents or deception. This is effective from 1st April 2008.
Applicants, who earlier breached UK Immigration Laws by staying illegally in the UK, or are working without permission, will also be banned from entering the UK, revealed the British Embassy officials in Kuwait.
This move has been initiated for two main reasons. Firstly, those who break the immigration laws could face a clear sanction, and secondly, this will serve as an incentive for those who are currently residing illegally, so that they could leave on their own accord, as the duration of ban for those who leave on their own accord will be much lesser, as against those who are removed forcibly.
The Visa service welcomes more than 2 million people each year to the UK, providing first class customer service to genuine applicants. The new strict measures target the minority individuals, who try to abuse the rules.
All applicants for a UK visa also require to go through the finger-scanning procedure, as a part of application process. These developments come as good news for majority of travelers, as the high-risk applicants could now be easily identified.
The highlights of the ban include:
Applicants who have breached the immigration laws in the UK, will be banned from entering the country for a lengthy period, depending on the manner in which the individual leaves UK after his/her breach of the law. It would be a span of one year, if he or she left voluntarily at his or her own expense, fiver years if he or she left voluntarily at public expense and ten years, if he or she was removed or deported.
