Kuwait to implement common GCC passport from next May
Kuwait will begin accepting the Smart Card or the Gulf Passport from next May, marking the implementation of one of the strategic projects of the six-member Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC).
The Director of GCC Affairs Department in the Kuwait Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghanim, said that Smart Card would allow easy access within the six member states of GCC- Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Kuwait is on its way to implementing the measure, once the technical formalities are completed.
The Kuwaiti diplomat revealed that a special division has been set up to complete implementation of resolutions adopted by GCC leaders during their last summit conference. Al-Ghanim appreciated GCC for its efforts to deepen joint cooperation in all fields, and working as a single bloc.
