Kuwait Housing Authority plans to distribute 1000 units per month to citizens
The State Minister for Housing in Kuwait, Abdulwahed Al-Awadhi, has confirmed that Kuwait emphasizes on the housing issue and the Public Authority for Housing Care (PAHC) will fulfill the call of HH the Amir, in resolving the housing crisis.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency during the occasion of national celebrations, Al-Awadhi, the State Minister for National Assembly Affairs, said, Kuwait is one country to pay maximum attention to housing care, and that it has been the recipient of Best Residential Project in 2007, awarded by Arab Housing Ministers Council.
Al-Awadhi said that PAHC has already rallied its administrative and technical resources for distribution of housing units to eligible citizens, and confirmed that housing authority would distribute 1000 housing units each month, upto the year 2014 in cities of Saad Al-Abdullah, Jaber Al-Ahmad, Khairan, Mitlaa and Sabah Al-Ahmad.
The PAHC Director General, Ali Al-Fouzan, said that housing welfare is now the aim of Kuwait, and that it is working hard towards realizing this goal through recruitment of locals and foreign experts, and by setting aside huge budgets for housing projects.
Ever-since its establishment in 1974, PAHC has constructed 70,000 units or more, with an area of 400 square meters, each worth about $7 billion. As for the new ‘model’ cities, Al-Fouzan said the government has allocated huge budgets for the projects, with residential units ranging 400 square meters in size. He pointed out that houses in Sabah Al-Ahmad City would be about 600 square meters in area. Both together would account to 20,000 units, with a capacity to accommodate 175,000 citizens.
