Kuwait plans to set up pre-immigration offices
Officials at the Interior Ministry in Kuwait have revealed that they are in the midst of weighing out the possibilities of opening offices in a number of Asian capitals to report to the immigration department.
The officials revealed that these offices would be entrusted with the responsibility of compiling and maintaining an information database of all applicants seeking job, or applications of those intending to visit Kuwait. They clarified that based on the data in the reports, the visa requests would be either granted or rejected.
The officials at the Ministry held several meetings to look into the implementation procedures required to streamline their work. The countries that were included under the new regulations are India, Bangladesh and many others, depending on their volume of labour force.
The offices would be associated with Kuwaiti Embassies, and the procurement of job visas would be based on the jurisdiction of the immigration department. The officials revealed that if the new regulations proved successful and effective, this would mark a giant step forward in effectively curbing the entry of persons holding forged passports into Kuwait, as also restricting entry of those who have bans imposed on them from entering Kuwait for whatsoever reasons.
