Kuwait to issue Smart ID cards to citizens soon
A representative for the Public Authority for Civil Information in Kuwait, Saleem Al-Easa, revealed that the authority has imported a machine for issuance of civil IDs to Kuwaiti citizens, which is one of the most sophisticated machines in the world.
The official revealed that the machine is in compliance to instructions laid by rulers of GCC states in issuing electronic smart cards for all GCC citizens. The equipment would be fully operational soon, as, the shipment of special toner is being awaited at present.
He said that the authority was keen on exerting maximum efforts to implement the concept of e-government in Kuwait. He explained that the equipment had the capacity to begin immediate issuances of smart electronic cards to citizens.
