Health Insurance Hospitals to be set up for expats
The Ministry of Health in Kuwait, Abdullah Al-Taweel, has sought for files of all Kuwaiti employees who had been in service for 30 years or more, to study the possibilities of their retirement. Speaking to the media, he said, the retirement plans would be made applicable to the Ministry’s administrative, as well as technical employees.
Speaking about another issue, he said that the project of health insurance hospitals has been referred to the cabinet. The ownership of the hospitals would be such that, 50 percent would be allocated for citizens, 24 percent for Investment Authority and 21 percent for private sector. Three new hospitals would specialize in offering a complete range of health services to expatriates. The project is expected to be complete, within three years from date of start of construction.
He agreed that the hospitals would be hundred percent equipped, and the health insurance fees rendered by expats, would cover all treatment charges, and no extra charges will be required at any of the hospitals.
