Kuwait Health Ministry plans to build three integrated medical cities
The Ministry of Health in Kuwait is planning construction of three integrated medical cities at strategic places in the country. This has been initiated to reduce the burden on existing hospitals. The project is still under study, and is aimed at providing medical services to residents and citizens all over the country.
According to sources, these medical cities are managed by foreign staff, who have been recruited from reputed international hospitals, and will help in setting the trend of sending patients abroad for treatment.
In the meanwhile, a delegation, who visited the Ahmadi hospital from American Cleveland Clinic, evaluated the level of medical services and management status in the hospital.
The Deputy Managing Director (Admin and Finance), Kuwaiti Oil Company, Khalid Al-Khamees, said that the hospital management held extensive meeting with the American medical team, and discussed health information systems, health planning, and recruitment sections. The recruitment evaluation will be done based on staff competency, doctors’ performance, service level etc. Practical solutions would be offered for expansion of the hospital and to improve the medical services, so that, people need not move out of Kuwait for treatments.
