Housing problem in Kuwait needs immediate attention
The Chairman of Al-Mutakhsis Real Estate Company, Faraj Al-Khidri, expressed his opinion that the aggravating housing problem in Kuwait, coupled with its negative reflections, should be addressed to immediately.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency, on Saturday, Al-Khidri, said that a proposed rental bill, is the main stumbling block curbing efforts to resolve the housing problem, and is the utmost concern of the youth today.
Pointing out to the low-purchasing capacity of the youth, who are unable to afford the soaring housing prices despite the income hikes, he also mentioned that private sector has been playing an active role in addressing the problem, through construction of new housing facilities.
However, there has been low response and demand for new apartments from Kuwaiti citizens and residents, due to the exaggerated and high rentals. Hence, Al-Khadri has requested the government and landlords to work together in finding a solution to the housing problem, which has its own social and economic dimensions.
