The $86bn Madinat Al Hareer approved by Kuwaiti Council
The $86billion Madinat Al-Hareer project has been approved by the Kuwait Municipal Council.
The development, expected to be built across the Kuwait Bay, includes a tower that is more than a kilometer in height, and is expected to be the tallest tower in the world.
The City of Silk or the Madinat Al Hareer is expected to be take about 25 years for completion. The exact date of beginning the project is yet to be known.
The project, on the whole, includes construction of a natural desert reservation, which would spread across 200 hectares of land, a large business center, a new airport, and areas that focus on media, sports, environment, education, health and industry.
Amidst all this, will be positioned the ‘Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir’ tower, touching 1001 meters in height, which is almost double the height of Taiwan’s Taipei 101 (509 meters in height). The Burj Dubai, which overtook Taipei 101 (final height expected to be 818m), is yet to gain official recognition as the world’s tallest building, as it is due to be completed only next years.
The Kuwaiti council has also approved the construction of Jaber Al Ahmed Bridge, which would connect the two urban centers.
