New decision to stop expat transfer if job title does not match degree

A new decision to stop the transfer of expats holding university degree in education, whose occupation on their work permits do not match their academic specializations, would be implemented soon, the Public Authority for Manpower has revealed.

According to official sources, the decision came after Civil Service Commission suspended the idea of converting specialized qualification holders like Lawyers, Teachers, Doctors, Engineers and Accountants whose work permits and job titles do not match their specialties, to allow them to work in government sector.

The Commission monitors the turnout of educators transferred to private schools and private institutions, which would help them for their future entry into public schools, provided, they obtained work permit and a job title that match their qualifications.

The Commission is currently in a precise description of all occupations that the labour market requires, and has been co-ordinating with Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training.

The measure aims to screen the labour market on professions that do not conform to the disciplines of study and address the campaign against fake certificates.
